Fate/stay night UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS
Directed by Yuji Yamaguchi, Kenichi Takeshita
Synopsis
Shirou Emiya finds himself an unwilling participant in a deadly competition where seven Mages summon heroic spirits as servants to duel each other to the death. They compete for the chance to make a wish from the Holy Grail, which has the power to grant any wish. Shirou is unskilled as a mage and knows nothing of the Holy Grail War, but he and his servant, Saber, enter into a temporary partnership with another Mage, Rin Tohsaka. However, problems arise between Shirou and Rin's servant, Archer, who seems to seriously despise him.

How does one describe the absolute catastrophe that is this movie? It's just visual white noise for nearly 2 hours ...and yet I know EXACTLY what is happening.

I’m going to be doing a podcast on this disaster of a franchise, which is the only reason I watched this again.

God this is shit, I was curious to see this since I’m about to watch havens feel part 1 later this week so I can watch havens feel part 2 next week at the movie theater (super hype) and all I have to say is, disgusting and awful. God bless that ufotable took the anime and made it into the most beautifully animated thing in history.
I finished rewatching fate/zero and fate/UBW for like the 10th time for heavens feel, so I’ll just talk about the show. The show especially the blu Ray Version(which has extra scenes) is amazing I really enjoy watching Shiro and rin fight off the servants, with the help of saber. I really didn’t like fate/stay…

This movie had at least three unsettling/spooky moments, so I would like to mint this film as the beginning of Scary Month!
SCARY MONTH 2023 (#1)
My favorite thing in the world is to sit down with some friends and have them pick something to watch with absolutely zero input from me. I don't want to be asked whether I think I'll enjoy something, whether we should watch a TV show or a movie, or anything like that. Just place my dumb self on a couch and put something on and I will be engaged and open to whatever is playing.
Sometimes it doesn't pan out, but that's where the magic is!
Great visuals, some very cool fight scenes, but I had no clue what was going on.
Something I love about anime films is that they usually have the best credits songs. This one didn't have a great credits song.
Happy Birthday, AJ! Welcome to 30s club!

I thought this was dumb but also had cool moments and I could see myself getting into the rest of the movies or the graphic novel.

A rushed, gawdly animated adaption of Unlimited Blade Works route. The frame rate is too weird, moments are portrayed without much emotion despite it being a very emotional sequence, everything feels like a checklist with none of the soul.
This adaption is also really embarrassing with now 80% of the Kara No Kyokai film series being out and being way better in every sense . -

Kenji Kawaii I could kiss you on the lips I love you so much. Uhhhh other than that the movie is incomprehensible trash that tries to condense 20-30 hours of story into less than 2. There's literally zero reason to watch this with the VN and ufotable adaptation out there.
While I'm at it, ufotable's UBW adaptation is fine. It's inoffensive, gets all the plot/character points of the vn down, and doesn't really do anything else. It still has all the flaws of the VN, but ever so slightly inflated, and all of the strengths of the VN, but ever so slightly deflated. The animation and music are also pretty unremarkable. Honestly I kinda prefer ufotable's Heaven's Feel even though it adapts the story way more sloppily. At least that trilogy had a few elements that really stood out, but UBW is just lukewarm and forgettable in every single department. 5/10 for the series
